In one of the previous article, we have mentioned about alternatives of outlook, but in this article, I will provide you details of installing grammarly in outlook so you can avoid spelling and grammar mistakes, but before we proceed let's take a look what is Grammarly.

What is Grammarly?

Grammarly is AI-powered writing assistance application, which help people communicate more effectively.

It detects grammar and punctuation mistakes, basic to advanced. It also provides real-time suggestions and guidelines on how to correct these mistakes, for example errant commas.

Basically grammarly check spelling error, grammetical mistake and it even checks if text is plagiarism free or not.

How to install Grammarly in Outlook?

So, as we have understood how effective is Grammarly, we will definitely want to add it into our email tool like Outlook, so here are the steps to do it:

Step 1: Navigate to Grammarly for Microsoft Word and Outlook web page and download it.

Step 2: Once you have downloaded it, install it using Installation wizard, but during Installation select both "Word" and "Outlook" both, so you can have plugin installed for any of these Microsoft applications.

Step 3: After few moments, Grammarly will be available to use on Outlook or word, if both of these applications were running when you installed the Grammarly, you may need to restart them.

Step 4: Now you can open Outlook and click the "Grammarly" button that's now available in the ribbon at the top on the screen.

Step 5: You can now start using Grammarly while writing new mail using Outlook, but before that you need to login into your existing Grammarly account or you would have create new account, if you don't have Grammarly account.

Step 6: Open Outlook, then Login into your grammarly account, by clicking on the buttons as shown in the below image

Once you have logged in into your Grammarly account, you can then click on "Reply With Grammarly" button, which will open a new Outlook tab and looks like below

So, as you say, while you will be typing your email on left tab, Grammarly will suggest you about spellings or grammatical mistakes.

That's it, you can start using Grammarly for outlook now, as you can see in the above image, Grammarly will give you suggestions for spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes and you can look your email more professional by writing correct words.

If you want to use Grammarly on Word Document, You can follow same above procedure, as we have already installed both Word/Outlooks Grammarly plugin, so now you can open Word and login into your Grammarly account to use it in MS Word.

How to add Grammarly to Google docs?

Well, if you want to add Grammarly to Google Docs, then there is an option available for adding Grammarly to it.

The following steps are given below:

  • First, look forward to the Grammarly extension for chrome to download and install it in browser
  • Add the extension to Google docs.
  • Open Google Docs and check out whether it is working or not.

Once, you have installed the browser extension of Grammarly you can use it on every website.
